Just received "the call" from my recruiter. I didn't get the job at Company X.
They decided, not surprisingly, to extend the offer to the other candidate who had actual real-life relationship management experience.
Oh well. It was a great experience for me and I got good feedback on it. The recruiter told me that both the local and West Coast people I met with really liked me, thought I was very poised in a stressful situation, and would definitely put me on the short list of candidates if another opportunity arises.
Boo.
